Two pieces of glass are fused together, preserving a channel to hold lamp oil. This piece is clear, iridescent glass with iridescent stringers. Separately, I create individual snowflakes and trees out of powdered glass.
Once the pocket has been created, the snowflakes, tress, and red balls are attached to the lamp in an additional trip to the kiln.
The lamp comes with a metal stand and a fiberglass wick threaded through a glass tube, which holds the wick in place.
Add lamp oil and light!
